Much of that change is reduced to work. People are tired. It is tiring and it takes the time to go up and down ladders two times a year to install and remove the seasonal lights. Permanent systems are permanently installed and can be found lying low under eaves or trim. You control them with an app. That’s it. No storage bins. No finished coils of wire which somehow breed in the garage.
It is a reality that is convenient but there is more to it.

And there is the curb appeal factor. Homes that are professionally lit on the exterior only appear complete. It is now spoken about more by real estate agents. Customers observe information at night when making drive-bys. An elegantly lit house does not shout to attention.
Quality of installation is important, however. Bad space or unreasonably bright environment may result in a crowded place. The most suitable installations are barely noticeable in the daytime. At night, they come alive. It is that balance that home owners value once having watched it done well.
This has also enhanced efficiency of energy. LED systems consume little energy and have a long life span. You do not have to worry about the utility bill because you can run them on a regular basis. The long life cycle will justify that initial investment.
Frankly speaking, I believe that one of the appeals is emotional. Individuals are also spending increased time at home. Backyards have been turned into places of getting together. Porches in the front seem to be a continuation of the living room. Lighting facilitates that transition. It captures the scenes – late dinners in the street, children running in the dark, nights with the dog.
Outdoor lighting that is permanent is not concerned with flash. It is a matter of dominance, mood, and eliminating an additional seasonal task in your life. When it is installed, you cease to think about it. You simply like the way your house is and how it feels at night.
