Boxes of lights are not something new to be transported and can be transported in a shorter period than one would think. It is initially festal. years later, several seasons later it is largely wound in coils of twisted wire, blown out bulbs and the bit that never will start, however much you shake it. Permanent holiday light system is not a stressful one and eliminates all that. The lights remain there all year round, and silently lie on the roofline or trim until the time you want to switch them on. No ladders. No cold fingers. The guess as to which of the strands still functions, is not a guess.
I have normalised it. First of all, it appears to be a massive upgrade. and then you have forgotten it in a couple of weeks. The lights are nothing more than that which the light in your porch or the light in your hall. You carry them on unconsciously.
Naturally, it is quite natural that the specialists will be preoccupied most likely with the installation. Even spacing and straight lines on the ground are more difficult to draw. They assemble it, wrap it up and connect it to some kind of control system, the output of which you can, in fact, understand without having to read a manual five times.
At a more convenient level, at this control level, things come in handy. Change of color, dimming of lights or even time schedules of the lights when they are in can be changed. You may have the days when you will want to have a delicate light barely noticeable. You may incline to light colours on other evenings–and most of all on holidays. It is not that complicated and pliable.
Permanent lights also dispense with such small inconvenience that takes place once in a year. Shutting down no longer. No extra January down-drawing of lights when it is colder than expected. You are not bound to put the house to rest and you do not need to go through that humiliating process of half the lights being turned off and the other half being not prepared to give up.
It also slightly has design advantage too. The lights are strategically positioned, hence they will tend to profile your house. Rooflines look sharper. Edges are clearer. It is never glitzy except when you glitzy it but it never appears to have been glued together.
Energy consumption is low. All these are largely LED based and therefore no huge choice to make when switching them on. And forget not keep night lights on you are.
The cost is what puts a stop on individuals. This will, of course, be more costly to purchase at first. However, considering the years you have to purchase new lights, the years you have to replace broken lights and the years you have to spend weekends to install lights, the scales are shifted a bit. Thou industrial change that is here to stay.
It has the silly ecstasy in seasons to it. And your ladder is on hand, when the other men are scrambling up and down, and screwing and unscrewing wires. The only thing one has to do is to press a button and the house is lit in whatever way one desires.
